Value People Above All

If you’ve been in business for more than a week then you know people are sure to let you down. Sometimes people can be your greatest source of burden, but we should never lose sight that they are also our greatest asset.

Let’s also not forget that we can let others down as well.

As Stephen Covey said, “We judge ourselves by our intentions and others by their actions.” People need grace when they make mistakes.

To take it a step further, we need to value people above everything else in our business. You had the idea for your business, established systems, and taken the risk, but at the end of the day you need the contributions of people to have a successful company.

Customers are also people. So are vendors. Even competitors! They’re all people. Business is all about people!

Place more focus on what you’re putting into them rather than what you’re getting out of them. And give them grace when they mess up. If you do this, production, profitability, and company culture will all see new heights!
